My brother-in- law (Chronically unemployed chain smoking beer drinker) nagged me into getting a landowner permit and get "him" some meat. I've had big fat does 50 yards from the front door, just grazing around doing nothing. I don't mind getting some venison, and I don't mind helping process it, but I really don't want to spend the entire day with BIL. He complains, gripes, whines and blames everybody but himself for his problems. Oh well, for $20 I can get a lot of deer, It covers seasons until the middle of January including bonus deer on some of them.

Shoot one on the condition he skins, guts and quarters it. You can help him cut it up.

If he's unemployed he can darn sure help with the processing. Point blank tell him "he no help, he no get" As far as the whining goes. Find a radio station that you really like and maybe he doesn't so much like. If you get a deer and as your processing it, crank the volume up as loud as you can stand. Man I just went over what I wrote. I sound pretty vindictive today, I'll just blame it on the weather.

I was gonna say from reading cornhusker,s 1st post that great suggestion might be a non starter, lol.

It's some years since I hunted. I never could handle a bow with enough poundage, and didn't practice enough to feel confident. I'm pretty good with a shotgun, though. Did about as well with 20-gauge as 12-gauge. The ex resented that I took some bucks. I know. Sad. Then he got this idea that he should hunt with a single-shot handgun... And there was his poor eyesight, his weight, his Reynaud's syndrome. It isn't prudent to hunt alone, and I think those I might go with would rather keep hunting than help drag if I did get something. My nephew is usually successful. His current girlfriend hunts, too. They will give me a few packages of meat.

Deer season came and went and not a shot was fired by me. The kids who were hunting my place were here twice a day, so I never really had a chance to take one. That's ok, I will have other chances.
