Lithium is used to treat bipolar disorder (manic/depressive). It's also used for batteries. Lithium ion batteries.
A few years ago, I got a lithium battery powered drill. A lot better than my old NiCad. As time goes on, it seems like I've acquired a few more battery powered tools, like a leaf blower.
Yard and garden work is good therapy. What battery powered tools do you have? Which ones are most useful around the homestead? And which ones do you not have, that you plan on getting in the future?

Waiting on my battery chain saw and pole saw to come in at the store. Can't wait to use them on all the limbs and downed trees around here. I do have an electric chain saw (wait I have 2 of those), but dragging out the extension cords (if they would reach that far) is a bit of a hassle, plus a couple of gas chain saws.

I have a dozen of the Ryobe 18v tools, looks like they're developing a solar panel to charge batteries. I use the drill and weed whacker the most.

Have about eight cordless tools in the wood shop, DeWalt brand. Have a cordless weed eater, don’t use it as much, seems putting new string on it is a real pain. Think a cordless mower would be nice, but with an acre of lawn not ambitious enough to use a walk behind. Would like a cordless chainsaw, would be very handy when up in the woods to quietly cut a few chunks of firewood. Do have a corded chainsaw that get use around the place.

farmerjack41, for your lawn you should get a lawn roomba (I don't know what brand they are). I drove past one once as it was out mowing the lawn, looked kind of neat.

Obviously I have the Atlas brand. Lawn mower and two 14" chain saws. My wife wants a leaf blower. I also have Hercules brand, hammer drill and reciprocating saw. Maybe in the future a circular saw and/or a impact wrench. I wait for sales then take my 20% discount on top of that. Batteries are seldom if ever on sale but the 20% still works. So far they all work well, The Hercules brand is commercial grade where as the Bauer are consumer grade so I try to get the better grade. We are also looking at a battery operated tiny rototiller. Still thinking about that so far Harbor Freight doesn't carry one of those.

The bride has a worx brand weed eater and hedge trimmer. They work well for her putzing in the yard, I run the Stihl gas weed eater if I have to trim. I have some battery drills and a die grinder in the shop that work for what I need them to do. I had the internet installer come to put the cable line thru the wall at my shop. He had a battery hammer drill with an 8-inch long bit. I let him fumble around for about a 1/2 hour before I stopped him from embarrassing himself any further. His battery drill was not going thru 14" of concrete poured in 1938.

Sorry I must correct myself. The Sun Joe tiller is electric and uses a cord. Very light to use bit great tilling action and conttol It works fabulously and I hate the Mantis. I had 3 of them over the years and they always get fouled up with stuff that you have to pick off. Must be the shape of the tiller tines. It just doesn’t happen with the SunJoe.
