I like to try something goofy in the garden every now and then. This year, I'm trying to grow rattlesnake beans in 3.5 gallon nursery pots. I don't know if that's going to be big enough, but I'm going to limit it to one bean plant per pot.
I'm going to roll out some landscape fabric, and set the pots on it in a "U", with the bean poles crossing from one side of the U to the other. I'm starting small with 17 pots.
Y'all think a bean can grow in a 3.5 gallon pot?

I might have misunderstood, but I'm pretty sure it takes a special license to grow 3.5 gallons of pot.

I'd think growing 1 plant/pot would work just fine. I'm growing Blue Lake pole beans in 5 gallon pots this year & planted 3 per pot, next to a fence panel. They're doing great so far, lots of blooms & little beans - figure I'll be able to start picking in about a week.
