I'll tell a story on myself. When I was in the flooring business we did a reasonably small carpet job in a mall-type office complex. Not a big deal, about $3000. I sent a bill to the complex owners, and didn't get a check. I called after a couple weeks and was told the building manager didn't have authority to contract for work, and since it wasn't authorized, tough and too bad.
Well, being the calm and gentle person I am, I jumped on my motorcycle and headed over to the corporate headquarters up in Addison TX. They were on about the 5th floor, and I walked in demanding to see the idiot who thought his building manager couldn't contract with me for a re-carpet job. I could see a guy in a corner office (yeah, I was fairly loud) trying to move out of sight, and the secretaries looking really worried about the obviously insane man shouting demands. Now keep in mind I wasn't cursing, heck, there were ladies present, but after about 5 minutes of demanding my money two Addison cops walked in. They told me I needed to leave, I was causing a disturbance. I told them there was nothing they could do to me for demanding my own money. Wrong. Turned me around and cuffed me.
When we got to the ground floor and into the parking lot I saw they were motorcycle cops, riding Kawasaki 1000's. They took the cuffs off me and we talked motorcycles for about 10 minutes, when one finally said Mr XXXXXXX please don't come back, I really don't want to have to jail you.
The upshot? The next day I got a cashier's check for my invoice amount by special courier. Just guessing, but apparently they didn't want me back.

The next day I got a cashier's check for my invoice amount by special courier. Just guessing, but apparently they didn't want me back. I had a similar situation. But mine was over damages. I took a brand new SUV in for its first service and their worker backed it into something and put a big dent in the hatch. I was angry but figured it was a minor PIA because theyd fix it. Nope. They doubled down and refused to accept responsibility. Having spent over 50k when that was considered a lot for a SUV and it having 5k miles on it I was a little "upset" to say the least. I tried being nice. I tried being stern. I tried having a letter sent by an attorney. I called and the sales manager and service manager more or less laughed at me. I waited until I knew the owner of the dealership was there and walked in and went straight to his office. Knowing I had about 7 or 8 minutes before PD got there I just got to the nut cutting "so you refuse to fix what your employee did to my new suv?" and I got "yes he said he didnt do it" so I said "i used to run a business with windows just like those out there. Theyre around 3k each. Sure would be a shame if someone knocked one of those out about every other day. Or what if someone say for instance took a wrist rocket and ball bearings and every few days sent some over into this lot to bounce off all those pretty Dodge Challengers out there. Yes I know you have insurance for all that....but how long before they drop you?" and the police showed up and I left. A week later somehow one of those windows was having to be replaced. 3 days later I was called and told to take it and get 2 appraisals and fax it to them" I did and I got it fixed on their dime. Like I told him before it got ugly I had been planning to come back and purchase a new Ram 1500 before that. So not only did his workers cost him all this headache etc they also cost him a customer that had bought 2 vehicles previously and probably wouldve bought more in the future. I sent the owner a copy of the book WAYMISH. Im sure he loves it. He needed it.

Ok I bought a new car and "peace of mind repair insurance plan with service at any ford dealer repair insurance". 100% coverage for 18 months and or 30k mile ... It reduced coverage over time and milage"! in the BUFFALO area on mothers day...I drove to my other place in Westchester ny. A week later it was DEAD. Yes I had another car there but when the local to Scarsdale refused to deal with it I had fun.
1. I knew cab drivers... ( I picked up gigs watching tiny one man shops by covering their shops. One shop owner was a friend and if he had an errands I watched the sho for a few hour while the kids were in school...one owner could make more crabbing during 10- 2 --- it was an ice cream shop)
I got all my papers together and phone numbers
2. I made a protest sign as to the treatment a new owner ( me)exposing the manager treatment and failure to honor the national insurance plan.
3 I called the zone office and warn them that if he did not correct it by Memorial day it was not going to be pretty.
4 the ice cream/ cab driver notified cab drivers to troll the area and honk the car dealer on Memorial day. Hey, it was by the train station and they normally troll there
With my sign and wearing a bikini I went down to that ford dealer. FYI Memorial day is a big car dealer day for the year!!! 45-60 minutes I got a coffee in the managers office and gee ....I got everything and more in writing ....he honestly had a real medical heart attack after I left which I learned while on the phone with the zone office. And I got even more via when the zone dude called me that mr.xxx ( the manager) would not be available due to his health but to deal with new manager.
I don't fold..I had warned the first manager I had access to zone managers.... He did not believe some young girl had that info ...one of the few benefits from my dad.

farmrbrown, I wanted people to beep their horn ...the reason for the beeping did not matter. I just wanted to make a scene ....I hoped that they would conclude it was for support for me verse "lady cover up" being in my early 20's was fun. ....there was no viral Facebook to haunt in the future should I apply for a job!

Hey, that sounds like a page out of my own playbook, I ain't mad at ya! lol I've threatened to do the same thing with a few businesses before including a car lot.....except for the bikini of course. No WAY I'm gettin' a bikini wax for ANY reason! (That'd be a violation of my ......... um, civil rights.........for sure!)

My New Mexico plates used to get me followed by cops for mile after mile in the midwest, and especially states like Illinois and Mo.
This plainly interfered with my right to drive like a bat out of hell, so I was resentful. After 10 miles or so with one on my bumper, I would pull into a truck stop and if he followed me in, which was common, I'd have the ladies open all 4 doors and leave them open and I would do the same for the trunk lid and hood, then look at the cop and shrug, inviting him to look it over. They never did, and left me alone to make up lost time by speeding......Joe
