I've heard several complaints about their feed.  I buy the DuMor crumble feed and I haven't noticed any problems, It may be the Producer's Pride brand that might be the one that has complaints.  The Producer's Pride is about 32.5 cents per pound where as the DuMor is about 37 cents a pound.   Plus I supplement with either cracked corn or if I have extra cash, scratch grains.  It didn't look like he found anything shattering.  

My chickens don't really care for pellets and prefer the crumble.  At our store I've only seen the Producer's Pride in mini pellet so I don't bother with it.

It looks like there is a reason for the 4.5 cent difference per pound between the two.
