One of the worst dangers of mountain sheep hunting is that they can go places you simply cannot, but shooting one that is out on a ledge creates an almost irresistible urge to go collect your trophy. We have some rare ones near our former home in New Mexico that you can only get one hunt in a lifetime, even if you do not shoot one. My friend Newt was the only guy I ever knew who brought one home, but he must have been half mountain goat, himself. Went deer hunting with him once, and I stood no chance at all of keeping up with him, even though he was 10 years older than me. We were about 500 yards down a steep trail when I told him I had to stop and rejoin him on the way back up. If I had stayed with him all of the way to the bottom he would have needed to carry me back to the top ....Joe
