Super high temps + no rain = brown pastures and low hay yields. Many ranchers down here are doing a hard thinning of their herds.
A sale barn in this region had 2200 cattle come through late last week. That's as many as usually come through in more than a month.

Same thing is happening here. We got a couple days of nice rain a couple weeks ago, but none for long time before and none since. Hay fields look like dry prairies.
Talking to my feed guy he says his business is way down, ranchers don't need feed for cattle they don't have anymore.
