Take Angel Acosta-Rivero as an example. Chicago police pulled him over in the 8600 block of South Halsted earlier this month for a traffic infraction. As you may have guessed, though, Acosta-Rivero, 26, has never been issued a driver’s license, and he had no insurance, his arrest report said. He even told the cops that, they said. Why did the cops stop Acosta-Rivero in the first place? Because the car he was driving had a photocopy of a fake Illinois temporary tag instead of a license plate, according to court records. Acosta-Rivero’s arrest report states police were “unable to positively ID the offender due to him not possessing any kind of federal or state identification.” The report does say he was born in Colombia, though. A federal fingerprint check returned a couple of details about him: he was born in Venezuela, and he was detained for “alien inadmissibility” by federal authorities at a border crossing in Eagle Pass, Texas, on June 7. more at link *No one knows who these people are who are coming in illegally. And they are all over the country.

Your point is very well taken, but I have to throw in the following; I knew several guys in that very town around 1965 who fitr the above description fairly well. Born at home or in a bus or junk car, no birth certificate, never went to school, no identification, some had no address at all, most had at least seen the inside of a jail, but just gave whatever name popped into their heads, Many had been born within a couple of miles of lake Michigan but had never seen it, but most had seen the Chicago river when it turns green on st. Patric's day. many did not drive but the ones who did had no license or insurance and drove mostly stolen cars. And YES, I did live at 23rd and Michigan in the very old Metropole hotel... ......Joe
