The Farmer's almanac (dot com) says Texas & lower states will experience an unseasonably cold and stormy winter. Almanac (dot com) says Texas will experience a mild and wet winter. I guess they've got us covered, no matter what sort of weather we have.

Right ahead of any Almanac prediction I trust Sweet Bride's joints. Sure, the Almanac can predict next September's rainfall, but can they predict when it's going to rain in the next hour? Heck, not even local TV stations can do that.
We feed our animals and put them away for the night every evening at 4pm (5pm until a couple months ago, dagnabit) Tonight about 3:45 she suggested we feed them early, her bones and joints were talking to her. Yep, just as we were finished and taking off our muck boots it started to rain.
Oh, her left elbow tells her the "climate change" scare is BS, and I believe it.

I never read the almanac.
In central Oregon and most of the time here, the weather forecasters usually quite accurately predict rain/snow. Last winter sometimes they would predict rain or snow starting in an hour or two, say 9 am. Then it was supposed to stop for 5 minutes, start again for an hour, then stop another 5 minutes. They were right on, almost down to the exact minute. I consider that extremely accurate.
Now they’ve been off a bit this winter. A week or so ago they predicted several days where we were supposed to get 1/2” to 1” of snow. Never got a single flake. Not that I’m complaining…. I could almost always tell when we were about to get a snowstorm in central Oregon. Not so much here.
I guess about 10 days of snow is normal here in December. I think we’ve only had 1 day so far.

El Nino brings us warmer winters in Ohio. It doesn't mean we won't see a few snow storms, just not likely weeks of bitter cold.....or so they say. Since tomorrow is going to be 58...I think they might be right. I miss the winters of my youth!!
