I'll never stop believing the CIA/FBI have career ending information on over half the republicans and probably the same number of democrats in Congress. I can't think of another reason those people would vote against America's best interests, and the wishes of their constituents.
I know, I have a suspicious mind, but how many times have we seen people vote exactly opposite of what they've portrayed themselves to be? We all knew McCarthy was a California democrat in disguise, but Johnson was touted as a die-hard conservative with a voting record to prove it. Now? Right next to Paul Ryan as a disappointment to everyone who believed in him.

I can easily buy into that, Tom, but I cannot imagine why those agencies would want to destroy the nation. I can believe it, just NOT understand it.....Joe

joebill, One hint might be that John Brennan, Obama's head of the CIA, once boasted of voting for Gus Hall, the communist who ran for President for the CPUSA. How did someone with that on his record even get a security clearance, let alone run the CIA? Maybe he just fit right in. Far too many of our cubicle dwelling bureaucrats are nothing more than useful idiot for a cause they don't even realize they're forwarding. Victoria Nuland, the gal in charge of overthrowing Ukraine's previous government and bragging about it had plenty of assistants and underlings who just did whatever she said. She was a loose cannon with an agenda of her own, but with lots of help whether those helpers realized what they were doing or not. The examples are unending of policies and agendas put in place that had no discernible upside for the US, but had entire agencies working together with no thought of the end results. Overthrowing Khadafi in Libya took a non-threat to an Islamic hellhole costing thousands of lives, but Hillary et al bragged "we came, we saw, he died". What possible upside could they have imagined other than disrupting the region and sparking ISIS into being? They hate America, but they have plenty of willing accomplices who just go along to get along.

www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/senate/2977604/mcconnell-argues-ukraine-aid-not-a-whole-lot-of-money/Mitch McConnell argues $61 billion in Ukraine aid is ‘not a whole lot of money’ for US Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said the $61 billion in aid to Ukraine will greatly help the European country, which is still fighting its war with Russia. The Senate voted Tuesday to pass foreign aid to Ukraine, Israel, and Indo-Pacific allies by a 79-18 vote, marking a victory for both Ukraine and the U.S. lawmakers who had pushed to provide the aid. McConnell explained that the $61 billion Ukraine will receive is much more valuable to it than to the United States, as the amount is only 0.2% of the latter’s gross domestic product. “So put in that context, it’s not a whole lot of money for us, but it’s a very significant step for them because it gives them the more sophisticated weapons they need to hold the Russians at bay,” McConnell said on Fox News’s America’s Newsroom. more at link

Notice he didn't say "to defeat the Russians". What a worm McConnell is. His whole schtick is acting like an elder statesman while selling our country down the well.
In 2018 Trump, for some unknown reason, endorsed McConnell in his reelection. McConnell has backstabbed Trump even before the 2016 election, and continued to do so throughout Trumps time in office. He's announced his retirement as of this election, but the damage he's done to this country will long outlive him.

tennesseestar.com/politics/ukrainian-aid-costs-each-american-household-almost-1500-economists-say/admin/2024/04/24/Ukrainian Aid Costs Each American Household Almost $1,500, Economists Say Even as Americans grow increasingly pessimistic and agitated about their personal finances, Congress is about to ask struggling families to cover the cost of more funding for Ukraine. The $95 billion foreign aid package adopted Saturday by the House and facing near-certain passage in the Senate includes an additional $61 billion for Ukraine. Once added to the money already appropriated for Ukraine since 2022, the United States will have spent approximately $173 billion. That translates to more than $1,300 per American household, according to Heritage Foundation economist Richard Stern, director of the Grover M. Hermann Center for the Federal Budget. more at link

www.dailyfetched.com/zelensky-reveals-hes-working-with-biden-on-scheme-for-10-years-of-military-aid/Zelensky Reveals He’s Working with Biden on Scheme for 10 Years of Military Aid Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the United States and Ukrainian governments are “working on a bilateral security agreement” that would effectively send aid to Ukraine over the next ten years. In a statement, Zelensky said he had been in discussion with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), thanking “him and all the congressmen for their support” of Ukraine and for the $61 billion aid package out of a $95 billion foreign aid package. Zelensky said Jeffries had “emphasized the need for Patriot systems.” This isn’t the first time Zelensky has begged for more American-made Patriot missile systems to be sent to Ukraine. According to The Washington Post, Ukraine currently has three Patriot systems, one from the U.S. and two reportedly from Germany. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin revealed on Friday that the U.S. would send more Patriot systems as part of an additional $6 billion foreign aid package. “Also, our teams, Ukraine and the United States, are currently working on a bilateral security agreement, and we are already working on a specific text,” Zelensky said. “Our goal is to make this agreement the strongest of all. We are discussing the specific foundations of our security and cooperation,” Zelensky added. “We are also working on fixing specific levels of support for this year and for the next ten years, including armed support, financial, political, and joint arms production.” “The agreement should be truly exemplary and reflect the strength of American leadership.” “I am grateful to both our team and the team of the American side for the progress in drafting the agreement.” more at link *Ten More Years!
