As background, a nearby local village dissolved themselves and became parts of two surrounding townships in 2019. There is a State Route thoroughfare that runs through both townships & beyond and of course down what used to be the original village. That's what they're referring to when mention the SR125 corridor.
I saw this pop up and thought -wow, sounds like the plan for a '15 minute city' to me.
“Recent history has seen the Amelia neighborhood develop in a sprawling auto-oriented fashion....This project aims to create a neighborhood node that is immediately actionable and deploys principles based upon regionalism, architectural design drawing on Amelia’s vernacular sites, pedestrian centric site design, coordinated streetscaping and alignment of local and regional resources, including zoning regulatory framework(s) to ensure Amelia establishes itself as place to live, work and play, regardless of whether one lives north or south of the SR 125 corridor.”

Wow, they could have used a few more leftist buzz words, but then, it would have made even less sense than the original.
I've always wondered about those "15 Minute Cities". Just what large discount retailers are going to invest in a market so small? Are the elderly supposed to push their walkers instead of driving? Is the idea to build apartment buildings with high density?
Hey, I've got an idea! Just let people do what they want to do, when they want to do it, and stop trying to convince people the "experts" know best.
