www.lewrockwell.com/2024/03/no_author/violent-extremists-get-called-moderates-by-a-violent-extremist-empire/Violent Extremists Get Called "Moderates" by a Violent Extremist Empire The imperial press have revealingly been using the words “moderate” and “centrist” to eulogize the warmongering former US senator Joe Lieberman, who passed away on Wednesday. “Centrist former Sen. Joseph Lieberman has died at 82,” reads a headline by NPR. “As a moderate Democrat, Mr Lieberman developed a reputation in Washington for crossing party lines — as well as simply crossing members of his own party,” says the BBC. “Joe Lieberman, a former longtime Connecticut senator and moderate Democrat who became the first Jewish American nominated to a major party’s presidential ticket as Al Gore’s 2000 running mate, died Wednesday at age 82,” writes The Wall Street Journal. “Joe Lieberman, centrist senator and first Jew on major US presidential ticket, dies at 82,” reads a headline from The Times of Israel. lots more at link

Sorry, but I quit reading the article when I saw: (emphasis mine)
When the author thinks supporting capitalism is against their moral compass, they're not worth reading.

I don't think we've seen true capitalism in a very long time. There is too much interference in capitalism by government. The regulations, the social justice crap against companies/corporations & deciding what we can or cannot buy.
The government/TPTB would much rather we were under communism at this time.
But, yes, I hadn't noticed what she said there either.
ETA: What did you think of what she said regarding the whitewashing of Lieberman and others like him?

As I said, I quit reading when I saw the was against capitalism in her long list of dislikes. From what I did read I could tell she was spewing some real venom using generalities and innuendo.
As to capitalism, I agree there's entirely too much government involvement in the economic system, but can anyone name a better system? Capitalism is the only economic system that doesn't try to change human nature, which is never successful. In communist/socialist/fascist systems the aim supposedly to make everyone equal, which is impossible. On the surface things may seem somewhat equal through government force, but in every non-capitalistic society there emerges a black market, and black markets are human nature's way of enforcing capitalism.

I’m always amused by those who so strongly advocate “communist/socialist/fascist systems” that supposedly make everyone equal…except those in the top tiers. Have you ever seen Al Gore ride a bike to work, Bill and Hill take public transportation, the Obamas buy a 1,500 sq ft home or Oprah shop at Ross? It’s ALWAY rules for thee but not for me.

My Dad only had a 7th grade education at a tiny one room school back in the sticks, but he was still able to relate to me at a very early age that "The communists claim to want everybody to be the same and live at the same level. That means that the big bosses steal everybody's income so that EVERYBODY has to live on starvation wages in a shack that is owned by the government......everybody but the big bosses, that is."
I never heard a better explanation in civics class......Joe

joebill, Your comment reminded me of something my 5th grade teacher said that I've never forgotten. The subject of different economic/political systems came up, and she said "communism is a wonderful idea, but it doesn't work". She didn't elaborate on the hundreds of millions communism murdered in the 20th Century, but her statement was sufficient to impart the wisdom and truth to a bunch of kids with pliable minds.

Must've been the times b/c I had teachers say the same thing. They were nuns so most described their living arrangements as the only communism working!

I dunno how well THAT one works all the time either, Tricky Grama, When I was in Chicago in '65, the nuns would only get let out 2 at a time and they would ride the CTA busses together. One did not have to eavesdrop to hear them complaining at the top of their lungs about the other nuns, the Mother Superior, the unfairness, the Priests, the Pope, the whole craporeee in which they "had to live" I always wanted to tell them that they had not been drafted, after all, and those busses hooked up with trains to everywhere. No point staying where it turned you into a hateful beech.....Joe
