twitchy.com/brettt/2024/04/10/louisiana-house-passes-bill-allowing-you-to-drive-into-and-kill-protesters-n2394947Louisiana House Passes Bill Allowing You to Drive Into and Kill Protesters Remember when liberals' heads exploded when Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced new legislation that toughened penalties on those arrested during mostly peaceful protests and made it a third-degree felony for obstructing traffic, and making the driver not liable for injury or death “caused if fleeing for safety from a mob.” Libs claimed that DeSantis had given Florida the right to run down protesters with your car. Fortunately, he brought along Sheriff Grady Judd, who had visual aids for the media: photos of a peaceful protest and photos of a riot for those who couldn't tell the difference. As Twitchy reported, TV producer Andrew Kimmel called the tougher penalties “actual fascism.” The legislation was there to protect people who were being pulled from their cars. We reported on Black Lives Matter protesters firing shots at drivers who tried to skirt their makeshift roadblocks. Now the Louisiana House has passed similar legislation, and it's causing another leftist meltdown. more at link

Aerodynamics on today’s cars should force a body over the top of the car hopefully eliminating nasty blood splatter. Larger trucks or suvs should have enough ground clearance for them to roll under the vehicle possibly with a slight bump for those who can’t afford a cow guard or don’t like the appearance. But in either case a faster speed will help, eliminating the need for multiple attempts thus saving gas and the environment. Be green y’all!

I recall back in the 60's seeing a newspaper picture of a guy on a chopper (motorcycle) who got sick and tired of waiting at an intersection for a sitdown strike to end. The front wheel was about 3 feet off of the ground and the back wheel was in the middle of a hippie's back and he had the throttle twisted so far back that you could see his fingernails from the front. He had a beard, but it did not disguise his mouth open in joyful laughter. I forget how many hippies he ran over, but they had not caught him at the time of publication... I also recall another newspaper picture from central Illinois at an air force base not much south of Chicago. The guards at the gate had been given rifles but NO AMMO and the protesters had been beating up the guards and stealing their rifles every night. The picture was of a roadblock with heavily armed troops just short of where the guards normally stood with a really huge sign reading "turn left or get shot dead" The newspaper claimed the road block was not authorized by the command structure of the base, but was totally ignored. No more guards got assaulted......Joe

Looks like Chicago and San Francisco could use this law right about now.

kkbcc, It wasn't the pro-Hamas protesters blocking traffic, making people late for their flights and causing general mayhem for people just trying to live their lives, it was the cops. The cops were just standing around watching the protesters bring grief to all those people, while supposedly protecting the protester's "free speech". Sorry, that's not free speech. Free speech is standing along side the road with placards, not stopping traffic. Stopping traffic is against the law, and should be punished, but for some reason the "rights" of the scum protesters were more important than the people just trying to catch their flights. The cops could have cleared them out, arrested them, and free-flowed the traffic in less than 5 minutes. Not doing so is a clear breach of duty. But then, it's Chicago who's Mayor is a teacher's union activist, so the rights of the citizenry are thrown in the dustbin when it comes to "activists". I've yet to figure out how stopping traffic and creating problems for others is supposed to be productive to a cause, right or wrong. Do they really expect people to be swayed to their side when they do these things? Or are they just spoiled children throwing tantrums?

I was working in a gas station at 16th and Michigan in Chicago in '65 when all of the marches and sitdown strikes were going on, and there was a fire station right across the road from me.
Watched a crowd of people sit down on the driveway so no fire vehicle could leave and one kid ran down the block and pulled a fire alarm near the sidewalk. Right away the firehouse sirens opened up and the traffic lights all turned red so traffic was stopped on Michigan and on 16th street. Sliding door opened and truck siren was added to the racket, even though it could not move out because of the human garbage blocking the way. Everything was at a deafening stand still for about a minute, but then a guy jumped up on the deck of the truck, you could hear the PTO on the truck kick in and that HUGE water cannon on the deck came to life!
It picked up the first couple of rows of sitdowners and stacked them on top of the next couple of rows in about a second flat and the truck began inching forwards. The rest of them scattered like a covey of quail and the loudspeaker on the truck told the cars at the light to get out of the way by running the light.
I never saw them try it again.
Those blocks-long civil rights marches used to come past the station, too, with a row of cop cars just waiting for somebody to begin breaking windows or starting fights, and the last vehicles in the line were paddy wagons and K9 cars full of german shepherds.
The democrat national convention will take place this year in Chicago. Stock up on popcorn....Joe
