It apparently is more an expression of contempt for religion than anything approaching faith as the invocation was 'hold fast to that which is demonstrably true," which is the opposite of faith.
We are all stuck in a Saturday Night Live nightmare world.

On a happy note one person walked out . My thoughts those that were already on Satan's side stayed,no other way to see it . This to me is one of those defining moments where if one an't against then staying is affirming their consent . Now days one out of many is just normal my fear is it is just the start . Then when at some point a huge calamity strikes everyone looks on in amusement saying that couldn't be God's judgement on a evil nation .

It was an arrogant display of power by those whose only goal is to cut out any public display of even a whiff of faith of every kind. It is not that they had any faith themselves- as was perfectly clear- but that they have zero tolerance for anyone that does. They were probably very pleased with themselves for misusing the historically acceptable invocation to get a platform for showing their intolerance.

Much simpler and probably a dang sight more usefull if whoever is chairing the meeting would simply call it to to order and say "let us all take a moment to ask God, each in his or her own way, to bless our efforts here with wisdom and courage"
Wait 30 seconds and gavel the meeting to order. Not every prayer needs a star player to utter it. The conflict seems to be over who gets to deliver a mini-sermon to a bunch of folks who are captive. Eliminate the conflict, deliver a whole collection of prayers to the Creator, get down to business....Joe

Unfortunately the response would be to sue over the word God. The purported Satanists don't believe in God.
The point has been reached that a few anti religious people have misused what is essentially the tolerance of those they hate to force everyone to conform to their own beliefs- or lack of them. The tail has taken over by wagging the dog. They need to be xalled out for their own intolerance as that is the ideal they have substituted for God.

Let them sue. They have the opportunjity to ask the entity THEY pray to for wisdom and courage the same as everybody else. I bet the best lawyer in the country would defend me pro bono, and if I lost, my book would keep me fed for the rest of my life...Joe

He is a rino Clinton type. From a founding family but well, if it was not for his last name...he would simply be a local small lawyer who is thought to be jealous of a brother who is a Washington do well lawyer... Well, good for him he made the news. He just lost big with the conservative folks who voted by name recognition. This certainly woke up a few of them. Heard things like ....he's nothing like his father.... Word on the street is discuss. Good I hope he cooked His goose and not for all assembly candidates will be faced with .....what will you pledge to do when faced with the freedom of speech for showmanship. Will you show respect for freedom of speach and the freedom chose to stay or walk out for the if you are discussed. |
