White hair, glasses and a general appearance plus there only seems to be two Tom Sherrys in Spokane, and the other guy is a weatherman. I think you're right. Just reading through the company stuff, it looks like he's been part of a start-up or a company expansion.
While his writing had a few problems (his main character in the Deep Winter books had an answer for everything) and I thought he could have really benefitted from a good editor, he had promise.

I agree, his books had promise. We have all three paperbacks of his books: Deep Winter, Shatter, and Remnant. I wish the forth book (Distance) would come out in print. The problem is, I have probably forgotten half of the main characters and the important events from the first three books.
