Guy who concentrates on HF items. This is his walk-through video for Harbor Freight's quarterly sale starting today:
If you buy a few things at HF like I do, bop through his channel a bit for some of his reviews.

My shop looks like a harbor freight showroom.

Wow they got a tent. We had to put the stuff inside the store. Although it was way too windy for a tent and the temperature was a bit too low for hanging out in the parking lot. A lot of the stuff has coupons for either the same price or near the same price. So if you miss the sale and want something check out www.hfqpdb.com/ and see if they have a coupon for what your looking for. We use this site quite a bit. 79

Guy put up a new video last night. He was filming in HF and was told to put his camera away. Since the store he was in, is where he has filmed before, he asked the manager why and did not really receive an answer. In his video, he named off several YouTubers who no longer are allowed to film anything at the freight. His opinion was that a corporate decision must have been made.
His next opinion was that things must be changing behind the scenes, as he thought corporate may be asserting more authority over the managers and the pricing within the store.

Bought a 3/8 drive air ratchet about a month ago, darn thing started malfunctioning after about an hour's use. I'll see today if their warranty is any good. I've never had a problem with their tools in the past, that ratchet replaced one I bought probably 12 years ago that finally gave up.
Building pole barns and similar structures I use a lot of lag screws, those air ratchets sure make life easier.

If you got the service plan you don't need the receipt. (if you don't have the receipt and gave them your phone number when you bought it they can try to look it up, although that isn't corporate policy. they may not want to do that. They don't keep receipts in the system after 90 days.)

blackfeather, They exchanged it no problem, even without a receipt. They looked up my phone number, and apparently since I wanted another one and not a refund, they took care of it.

I use a lot of 4 1/2 grinders in my work. I bought one of the old orange Chicago grinders that came with an extra set of brushes. That thing outlasted 3 makitas, just died last year at the age of 13.

That is what I do, but some of the cashiers cling to the rules like leaches. I don't exchange or refund if I can't find the receipt in the system. That happens when they refused to give the phone number when they checked out with the item in the first place, then there is no way to track the receipt. My thought is if you don't want to give your information then you lose out if you don't your receipt.

Just for clarity the Harbor Freight Coupon Data Base site isn't run by Harbor Freight, and I have found they don't have all the coupons that Harbor Freight publishes. (I use this site to put a catalog together once a month, which has coupon codes for the products in the flier they send out. When someone comes in without a coupon, we look it up and only give it to them if they buy a service plan or Inside Track Club membership. Many times they get service plans or ITC memberships for free by us supplying a coupon. We figure if they didn't bother to look for a coupon then if we give them one they need to do something for us. A kind of win win situation. We get judged on how many service plans and ITC memberships we sell so if we go above and beyond to find a coupon for them they owe us something. It works too, I'm one of the highest sellers of service plans in the store for a part timer, only one full time cashier out sells me because she has more hours. Some in the company would consider it cheating but when it makes the store's numbers look good and hence management looks good, and if they look good they can get promoted. They have incentive to ignore it. What I learned at Radio Shack. )

Speaking of the guy in the article, he got a public apology from Harbor Freight's CEO.
