I would like to suggest the "hunger games trilogy" to those who want a good read and an example of what we need expect from government in coming conflicts.
In the beginning, I regarded it as a "young adults" fictional read, but I hereby back off of that opinion and highly suggest it to anybody.....Joe

My MIL read it, and became profoundly depressed because her book group didn't get that those things can really happen. (She lives in the far north 'burbs of Chicago, so that kind of ignorance on the part of the group members is almost expected.)
I have enough going on in my head to go digging into more of the possible ways the govt will continue to screw us over. But if you think that these books have good info to offer, I'll see if I can find the Cliff's Notes.

I don't profess that they will tell you anything you don't already know, so maybe save it for when you want to be entertained and have your biases confirmed...… …..Joe

Yep. Read em. Whole time I thought, kids can’t possibly understand the underlying message of these books.

I haven't read them but have heard 2 songs based on them. Both from Rachel Rose Mitchel (macwhirter) I like the second the best. Presently she is suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome so she hasn't put out many new songs.
