Most of our generation also learned real young to NEVER mention to your parents you were bored. 🤣 There were all kinds of cures for boredom and it didn’t include new video games.

World's fastest talking man... Takes me back.... You? Now days, some of the disclaimers sound almost that fast but they cheat to do it. They use an audio editor that removes the silences between words and even some syllables to compress the audio and then digitally speed it up as much as they dare without making it totally unintelligible. My ears don't listen that fast. I grew up in the slower talking South.

I've always loved horses, been known to buy a bag of carrots just to stop and feed the three up the ways from us. But, a rental horse ran away with me when I was 12 years old, took me through the trees on a shortcut back to the barn, and when we came out the other side I had a limb across my arms. Apparently he didn't like his job very much.
I've always said, if you see me on a horse, turn to the person next to you and say "I see Tom's started drinking whiskey again".

Apparently he didn't like his job very much. I've always said, if you see me on a horse, turn to the person next to you and say "I see Tom's started drinking whiskey again". I’ve been bit badly numerous times, had my nose broken twice, been kicked numerous times (stallion broke my leg once), thrown a few times, smashed into trees or against fences, had one arm ripped up when a horse dragged me through a barbwire fence, and had a horse fall on me 6-8x breaking my foot and mangling all the tendons on both sides of both ankles. Also did a really spectacular exit from a buggy one time when the horse flipped the buggy over but managed to land on my feet.😁 Not really too bad a record considering I’ve ridden almost all my life, trained mostly young horses and worked with wild mustangs for maybe 20 yrs. Regardless, I love horses enough none of that would ever keep me off a horse.

Did stupid things when I was in early teens...guess no one does, ha. Used to go on 'hikes' out to the country & ride horses in pastures. Yeah, can U believe we were that dumb. Had one go under trees & knock me off. Another ran mile-a-min towards a fence & stopped abruptly & I went over his head to outside the fence. Other stuff too, not as funny tho.

My best friend (next door neighbor) and I always thought we never had enough riding time, especially in winter as we both had to be home before dark. So for 2-3 years we’d crawl out of our bedroom windows at night and go riding for 3-4 hrs, then sneak back in our windows before daylight. Our version of teenagers pushing the car out the driveway and not starting it up until we got down the street was to lead our horses quietly out the driveway, with one hand over their muzzles to keep them from neighing at other horses. Once we made it to the woods we’d jump on and off we’d go. We didn’t do this very often during summer as we had more riding time, but between school and it getting dark early in winter, we never got enough riding in.
