ditto. Say, does your Aldi have Wernesgruener? Our Aldi has guter bier und wein. Schokolade Qualitäts as well.
Aldi is one of my favorite German imports. They started out as a bare-bones budget store, but wow! They really upped their game in the past 20 years!

Thought this was interesting: The democrats are demanding $50 million for security at their Milwaukee convention. Silly people! Why don't they just hold it in a gun-free zone?

Ozarks Tom, No gun signs are cheaper! Trump Security Has Cost More Than $30 Million So Far linkThat was from winning the election Thur mif May 2017 Trump Tower — $21 million: The New York City Police Department estimates its cost of protecting the president's New York city residence between $127,000 to $146,000 a day, while the fire department puts its own expenditure at $12,328 a day. In addition, Congress has been asked by the Secret Service for $26.8 million for the year to protect the building. It brings the estimated cost to about $212,000 a day — or $21 million for the first 100 days Trump has been in office.

paisley, Boy, what a selling point for the Trump Tower leasing agents. They can tell prospective renters the rents are so high because it's the safest building in New York City.

aussie, they were kept in mud to taste like mud.
Hold them a few days in clean water and the mud taste will be gone and the true carp taste comes forth.
Lots of carp is also eaten in the Czech Republic. At Christmas. We visited some friends there and there was a big carp in the bath tub for Christmas eve dinner.
Say, cat fish kind of muddle around in the mud on the bottom, too, don't they? and eat dead stuff.
I just thought about those asian carps invading water ways in Ky and my attitude is, if you can't beat them, eat them.

Gun free zone? Brilliant!!!!
ALDI actually is a German company. I was surprised they made it across the pond. The chocolate and the coffee are the same. Putting in a coin to get a cart is standard procedure in all stores in Germany, not just Aldi. So they tried to do install the system at the commissary too. Worked nice, then we got a new base commander, his wife was livid...end of that.

www.servus.com/rezepte/gebackener-karpfen-mit-erdaepfelsalat/this is the way we like our carp. It just has to have potato salad with it. I looked and there are a million reciepies on line. some people like 'Karpfen blau', blue carp. basically simmered at low temperature in salt vinegar water. I can't say if it is good because I never had it. Mother did not like the look of it and that was that.

If you skin the carp, then strip the mud vein from the middle of each side, it helps with the taste. My folks used to wrap carp in freezer paper labeled "C-fish" in hopes that guests would think it was catfish. Nobody ever called them on it, so I dunno.
I have shot far more carp than I have ever caught on a hook, both with a bow and arrow and with a pistol. OI quit shooting them altogether when I figured out we could afford to eat hamburger.....Joe

Putting in a coin to get a cart is standard procedure in all stores in Germany, not just Aldi. >>>>>> We have that here also at the one major super size grocery store... Put a Loonie ($1 coin) in the cart handle to unlock it.
Problem is the store is close enough to the edge of the hood that the pan handlers cruise the parking lot to put your cart away for the coin..

I learned to put up electric fencing. Piece of cake. This morning I subdivided a bigger pasture into paddocks. The sheep are in paddock nr. 1 right now. nothing growing yet, but they are spreading their own manure. Twin lambs on valentines day. I hope to bunch the sheep quite a bit and rotate them often.
I wonder if that is Bonnie or Matushka sitting by the door.

I'm thinkin' if I get kinda bored tomorrow between chicken chores/house chores/karate lessons/meal prep -- and have some down time to boot - I just may have to organize my sock drawer to liven things up a bit.
