Why you wanna get my goat? Because a want a goat or three. Prego would be nice if you can arrange that for me. And expect to come to Florida as my personal Consultante de Chevre. Well, it looks like they're keeping out-of-staters out of Florida.
I'm sure they'll make exceptions for goatherders, of course.
If you're serious about getting good Nubian stock, however, I can set you up with someone closer to home, in state, in fact. Unless she moved... But I know people. <wink, wink>

Pony
Please send me a letter stating I am essential to the feeding of the deer herd at Trail's End in Ozark County. I want to come up...but I don't want to be thrown in the pokey because of my Texas plates!

Can't think of a better place than yours to hibernate.

I turned my compost pile! Took 2 days, 1/2 one day & the other yesterday. Now have a back ache... Got 4 small wagonloads of compost. Spread most & planted some annuals around the front oak tree.

You could never hate that movie as much as I did. Back then, every "first date" had to be dinner and that movie, and at the time I was still "first dating" my way through Springfield Illinois, where all of the state office employees plus all of the Bell Telephone employees were female and in my age group and a huge segment of the male population was touring Southeast Asia courtesy of the US Army. If I had not "struck it rich" with Janet when I did, I might have had to buy a share of that move house and gone under when it did.... …...Joe

It rained all morning and I went to town. DS is online looking for a used jar sealer. No luck. serious price gouging. After lunch I dug up six rose bushes and worked on a bed for transplanting echinacea. I want to get a big planting of that going. Then I did the dishes and now I am on here. Next I have to check on the goats. Had to milk Rhonda yesterday. Her udder like a rock and one side getting red. It must have hurt, DS held the leg she was trying to kick with. She is a good milker otherwise. But it had to be done. We gave the milk to the dogs. Noticed that dogwood is starting to bloom and red buds were in bloom everywhere. Spring is pretty.

Almost anything with Julie Andrews in it was worth watching.

as far as puppets is concerned it is nice. for kids. It is not austrian. If you tell an Austrian it is he will think you are soft in the head. My best friend is from Salzburg. Buses with American tourists come and look at the movie locations. they are real.
If you want to see a real goatherd, as near as it goes, here is an excerpt from the original, Swiss version of the movie Heidi.

Americans always search out the locations where various scenes from the movie were shot, but do you know what it is that British tourists always seek when in the Salzburg area?
I will give you a hint. It is not the casino.

We went out on the lake fishing a couple hours. Didn't catch a single fish but enjoyed it. I spent the day with my mom and stepdad. Took them a load of groceries. Gave them orders to stay in and home. To keep a grocery list going and call me. They are 84 and 82. My mom has Alzheimer's . It is such a nasty thing. WOrst part is they don't realize a single thing is wrong with them. I took stepdad a mask and gloves in case he had to get out. She wanted to know where her's were? You don't need any you are not going out. If you do you will not be getting out of the car. She ask me 3 times where her's was. Times like these is when I wish I had siblings.

So the Essential Craftsman is the original Swiss version of a goat herder? He knows how to pound a hammer. I suppose if he hits his thumb he'd yodel. (what you really did was post that to see if anyone really looked at the link.)

What is that about? How will I know if anyone looks at a link? And what about a hammer?
I really like that movie. I like goats, and, there is a boy herding the goats of the village, taking them up to Alpine pastures every morning. That is why he is called a goatherd. Swiss goats are well known among goat keepers. My Saanens are a Swiss variety from the Saanen valley. Oberhasli is as Swiss as you can get, Alpine, Toggenburg....Blowing a horn was standard procedure.

Sorry, Dodges Mammaw, in many cases of that sort, sibs are far more trouble than they are worth. Really hard to describe why, except that difficult situations call for a single plan and every person added with some authority adds at least one more plan and often TWO more, because the added sib also has a spouse that needs to add his/her two cents. Never forget, there is another set of parents out there with equal rights that belong to the sib's spouse. My life has been touched twice in that way, and the best I could do was to try and not be a problem. I had a few feeble attempts at being a help, but only made folks mad. Sometimes REALLY mad. Just do your best, shake off the guilt other people lay on you like it is a cow-pie that got thrown from the sidelines, pray it will be over soon. If you want to cuss somebody out, feel free to PM me and give me hell, because I am the guy who walked away, not being able to make anything better. Consider me to be your private punching bag. Nothing new to me... …..Joe Yeah, I looked, no, NO goatherd. Guy making a burke bar with a fair amount of competence.
