Well I know what I won't be doing in the yard today and that's watering, just shy of an inch and a half last night. A nice soaking rain too, thankful it's in the ground and not racing down the creek to flood out a distant neighbor.

We need a rain just like that, only it needs to do the slow soaker thing for about 8 hours here. But I am very happy for you Billy. It should do your yard and garden some good.

Pulled the onions and pumpkins today, not massive quantities of either but happy to get what we did with the earlier hale storm and recent tornadoes. We don't get those here very often if ever. Wife and I have been collecting seed heads from the wildflowers we have in numerous beds for a couple of weeks now. Once they're completely dried I'll thresh them this winter and donate them to the free seed banks at the local libraries. Lots of good veggie seeds available at the one near us too, check around your area and see if it's a resource worth looking into further.

solargeek, It's 3/4 pex pipe and I used brackets to screw it to the wood on the raised bed. Once the carrots pop up, I will tent it with frost cloth, and then use pool noodles to secure the cloth to the pex pipe. God Bless YouTube. My garden is my passion, my joy, my anti-depressant! That &$)@$*%^@!_ groundhog is making me crazy this year. Txsteader, They are maypops. Full of seeds, but no actual fruit. :-( However, I am totally impressed with this silly thing, as I cut it to the ground in fall, and I live in Central Indiana..........and it's considered a tropical plant! She is south facing, and against the brick on the house.......I put it there hoping it would get the best sun, then stay warm at night from the residual heat of the bricks. I reckon it worked!!!! Thank you for the compliments.......if I could I would never go to work and spend my days in my yard.

Actually had a yard sale over the weekend. Not a lot of traffic compared to previous times, which I was afraid would be the case but the people that came bought up multiple items. As soon as we had emptied one of the tables I got to work making a large FREE sign and we piled it high and deep on the last day. No need for me to sit in line at S and A Fashions trying to make a donation. I'm very happy to have cleared out a lot of the clutter and may have one in the spring if the Republic still stands.

Billy G , We never have any "clutter", those things not in immediate use are referred to as "might need it some day". Sort of like leftovers that are referred to as "meals in waiting". My biggest regret is we never hoarded money. Totes full of rice & beans? Yeah. Money? Not so much.
