blackfeather, Watching Larry Kudlow on FOX today when he was saying not only are no new refineries being built, the EPA and other federal agencies won't permit the existing ones to expand the facilities.

That was before the protesters got close. He only stayed in the fancy office a few minutes before the crowds got within 50 feet and the SS hustled him to the parking garage where they stayed for several hours.

I find it ironic that Fonda protested the Vietnam war and called returning service members baby killers, but supports the right for American women to kill their own babies.

A few things that come to mind in this scenario, with the first being the impact on China if our economy goes into the dumper. A huge portion of their manufacturing is dependent on US dollars. They might weather the economic storm over the long haul, but communist regimes live in fear of their people revolting. They've built their national economy on exports, and if they all of a sudden don't have buyers......
Also, it's hard to believe Saudi Arabia and Iran being on the same team, of any kind. They're mortal enemies, even moreso than India and Pakistan. Saudi Arabia has enjoyed the wealth the petrodollars have brought them. Unless they see clear evidence that they'd benefit more from a currency that's never been used before, them joining is hard to believe.
There's no doubt Russia and China would love to see the dollar lose influence in the world, but the world's economy is more complicated and interwoven than it appears on the surface.
