Federal Ban on Price Gouging

Okay, here are some thoughts that maybe should go into the "Conspiracy Theory" board, but they're so applicable here I thought I'd clear my suspicious mind.

I'm wondering if this price control agenda wasn't presented to Ol' Easy as a real vote getter, with the people pushing it knowing full well the uproar would make her look like and idiot. In other words, her advisors sabotaged her purposely, on orders from behind the curtain.

This aligns well with my suspicion that the drug cocktail they gave Biden just before the debate with Trump was considerably weaker than the injection/pills they gave him before the State of the Union address where he appeared cognizant and energetic. There was a huge difference apparent in just a few weeks time. In other words, another sabotage from behind the curtain.

That's why I'm thinking next week will be the end of the Harris/Walz campaign, where someone will be pushed out from behind the curtain who not only would be more acceptable to the voters, but also a stealth Marxist ready to follow orders.

Throw in the attempted assassination of Trump, made easy, not planned, but made easy through filling his Secret Service protection detail with incompetent people. The brass in the USSS know who's a sluggard, they know who's likely to ignore anything they can pass off to others, and they know filling the detail with people who've never worked together before makes for an uncoordinated operation.

This price control agenda is pure stupidity to put forth at this time. I can't imagine a worse policy to spring on the public. Even the major news syndicate is giving it a big thumbs down.

Never underestimate the intrigues that get cooked up by desperate people whose whole lives are wrapped up in attaining power. In this case I'm thinking they know Trump is unbeatable no matter who the put forward, but they need someone who won't destroy the down-ballot races like Harris/Walz would.

I could go on, but suffice it to say there's nothing happening that can't be explained by powerful people working quietly and out of sight to not necessarily destroy this country, but remake it with themselves in power, permanently.

“There’s a big difference between fair pricing in competitive markets, and excessive prices unrelated to the costs of doing business,” the Harris campaign said in a statement. “Americans can see that difference in their grocery bills.”



Directly addressing soaring meat prices, Harris will focus on corporate consolidation in that market as one reason meat prices are so high.

It was a bit early in the day for one, but it is really hot outside, so....

My thoughts on her food pricing proposals go back to an old observation about conspiracy theories - the choice between evil genius and gross incompetence.
I think she's just giving the appearance of doing something about the inflation we all have seen the last few years because that's a major weak point that will sway voters to Trump. It wasn't well thought out, just a desperate attempt to appeal to the base of populist voters.

The retarded, the slightly retarded, the poorly educated, and those educated in schools without history classes are likely to think government control over anything is a good thing. Of course they can't name one thing government does efficiently, or ever semi-efficiently, but no matter, the government is smarter than them which is probably true.

They really believe some guy in his cubicle in DC knows what the price of anything should be anywhere, because he's an "expert".

That's what we're faced with. Trying to explain simple facts and figures to people who couldn't add their shoe size to their belt size correctly. And, the democrat controlled urban politicians are fine with that, keeping their people ignorant is a political feature, not a fault.

I've seen just as many idiotic republicans as I have idiotic democrats. Mindless "conservatives" that can't explain doodley-squat about the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and couldn't even tell you what the three branches of the federal government are, never mind what they are supposed to do and how they are supposed to interact with each other. My family is full of those idiotic republicans, led around by their tallywags in accordance with whatever "conservative" media source they choose to mindlessly follow.

That being said, the democrats have it easy whereas most of their ilk are nothing more than lemmings that will mindlessly do whatever their "leaders" ask of them because simply because their leaders tell the clueless hordes that they know what's best for everyone and they will tend to everyone's woes by handing them someone else's money, which the mindless consider a two-fer because they get free money and it came from someone they despise, a person that usually worked for their money.

My neighbor claimed that Trump being shot won him the election. I didn't necessarily agree as I thought it would certainly solidify his base and bring in a few undecideds and independents, but I wasn't sure if it would be enough. The reason being that he is not just running against a single opposition candidate. He is running against Harris/Walz and those that somehow believe they are what's best for the country. He is running against the main stream media who have taken it upon themselves to print, say and communicate whatever they can to convince people that Trump is the devil incarnate and the antithesis of democracy.  He is running against a judicial system that has been weaponized against him. He is running against an election machine that will do everything that it can (legal or not) to make sure that he doesn't win the election.  He is running against the republican Never-Trumpers who are and/or were upset that he did something that they couldn't or wouldn't. He is running against the Obamas, who certainly don't want to see him in the White House again. He is running against people like myself that just can't stand him as a human being but were surprised by and supportive of his political actions during his administration. And, perhaps most importantly, he is running against himself. Again!

I thought that being shot might calm him down a bit to where he was more appealing to those that were on the fence about him. That calmness lasted about two weeks at the most and he then mostly returned to his old self. Rambling about things like whether Harris is black, Jamaican or Indian. Calling her unintelligent, etc. These are the things that just distance the fence-sitters and influence them to vote for Harris or not vote at all. But the man just can't help himself. He just reverts back to his grade school playground mentality and starts calling names. It is beyond reason to me that a person like that can make a several billion dollar empire with that kind of childish mentality.

Despite all that he is running against the election is there for his taking as long as Trump maintains an even keel and doesn't stray to far to childish side.  What would help immensely would be a "clean and honest" election but the liberals would never go for it.  Why do you think they vehemently rail against voter ID and call for 2 months of early voting, ballot harvesting and unnecessary mail-in voting.  They need as much time and as many tools that they can get to do their normal dirty deed.

Personally I think we should have a two-day election event.  Hell, make both days a national holiday of sorts allowing everyone the chance to vote on one day or the other.  The vast majority of voting should be done in-person during those two days with mandatory ID cards shown and maybe even using voter ink on a finger to show that one has already voted (it was important enough for the U.S. to impose this mechanism in Iraq and Afghanistan, goose/gander).  Mail-in voting should only be allowed if you are truly indisposed on election days, like being in the military and overseas.

Anyway, enough of a rant from me...

I agree, Trump's personal history is a big turn-off for many. His record of infidelity I'm sure is unforgiveable for many, and not just women. I can think of half dozen people I'd prefer over Trump.

It's a lousy situation when we're faced with choosing between two extremely flawed people, the very idea of choosing the least bad is no way to run a country. But the fact remains that Trump's administration was very successful in several areas, whereas Ol' Easy already promises economic woe, and she's a proven lightweight intellectually.

As the saying goes, "it is what it is" has us in a position that's quite possibly the most decisive in this country's history. The dems promise nothing but increased economic and reputational misery, increased government oppression, and a rapid descent into socialism.

I'll vote for Trump, as doing otherwise would be a spiteful disregard for this country's future.

 It's funny how things like a float have different names. Around here you have your root beer float - root beer/vanilla ice cream. Then you have your coke/vanilla ice cream - we call that a "horse's neck" I have absolutely no idea why it's called that, except all of the elderly people called it a horse's neck and they can't explain it either LOL

Thtwudbeme, That was a pretty good rant. I’m conservative but middle of the road. I have close friends in both camps and it’s interesting to watch. The Harris fans know she’s the best choice and think the opposition voters are just uninformed because certainly they can’t understand what’s at stake. The Trumpers are certain the opposition just needs their eyes open. Seems to me both sides are so certain in their superiority they think anyone not agreeing can’t possibly understand.
