partndn, I always am able to take a few deep, calm breaths when I see your beautiful arrangements. It's like my Saturday night therapy session!

I just noticed something unusual in the pic for today's flowers. Usually, the pic is taken Saturday night, near dark or totally dark outside, and artificial lights on in the parlor there. I had to do them early this morning (Sunday) due to working all day at weekend job yesterday.
Can you see the blue-ish and other color rectangles in the pic? I just realized they are reflections of the stained glass windows on the other side of the room, and show up in the glass of the picture hanging on the wall there behind that piano. Kinda cool.

I noticed that too and I wondered what it was, thanks for the explanation! I love those red-tipped roses, so beautiful 😊

partndn , Just gorgeous! How long does an arrangement like that take you? Since there's not a lot of stuff blooming right now for me to go running around and clipping, I bought all the flowers. Took me about 2 hours total at a couple different places, and snipping the ivy and stuff around my house. Then about an hour and a half to put it all together. I paid $11 for 3 hydrangea blooms that were supposed to be there. Took them straight to the church yesterday morning and put into water. After I got the cellophane off, they were sort of "tight" and they should have loosened and gotten nice. When I went back around 6:30 yesterday evening to start on everything, all three were droop dead ugly. Don't know exactly why, but it happens sometimes. Had to trash em. I know the floral lady at Lowes foods so well, she will credit me something next time I'm in there to buy if I let her know. We have Leighton Ford, Billy Graham's brother in law, www.leightonfordministries.org/ speaking at our church today, and tonight. An amazing lady, member of our church passed on several years ago, and left a fund for us to have a special speaker each year. It's called "adventures in faith" weekend, and we always get someone notable that we otherwise, would probably not have funds for.

I have a job stocking liquor on the weekends at the ABC store for several months now. Haven't been able to do flowers in quite some time. The job is kinda fun, and I'm adding to my preps in that area But had the weekend off last week and did these for a special weekend of guest speaker. Attachment Deleted

partndn, I'd forgotten about ABC stores. We lived in Franklin NC, south of Asheville for about 18 months. The ABC store there was right next to the most popular supermarket in town. We went in one Saturday afternoon, to find 4 clerks and NO customers. Shocked, having come from Dallas where Saturday afternoons liquor stores have off duty cops directing traffic in their parking lots they're so busy, I asked what the deal was. The guy explained their location next to the supermarket is a killer for business on Saturdays. Everyone was afraid their neighbors would see them coming out of the liquor store, and mention it Sunday morning at church. He said about the only business they got on Saturday was usually people from Silva, in the next valley, trying to avoid their neighbors.

I haven't done much for flowers at church this year, since I was working most weekends at the ABC store.
I do have a couple and will post them now. Thanks Tom, for reminding me!

Just gorgeous! I showed several to my wife and she said "She just does this as a hobby? With talent like that she should be making a living at it."
I think the last one, honoring your mother is the best you've done. Very expressive, thanks for sharing.
